Vintage Alto Saxophone – Unmarked Italian Stencil Alto Saxophone, Serial #24849
This is an interesting vintage alto saxophone, serial number 24849. After looking at a lot of pictures we think it is most likely an older Italian saxophone, possibly Orsi. The key work on the sax looks like it was modeled primarily after Conn but it also has a floating octave lever similar to vintage Buescher models. All of the original key work and neck is with the sax. At this time all of the pads are very old and unusable. Because of this the sax is not playing at this time.
The body is in sound condition showing history of lots of past use and some repair. Due to the current condition of the sax and the old age of the pads this sax is not going to be ready for use until it is complete overhauled. An item like this is ideal for an at home repair shop or for someone looking for parts to supplement other projects.
