Very nice original Buffet Super Dynaction alto sax, serial number 13490E (for European market). The vast majority of these 60s vintage Super Dynaction horns were lacquered, and we rarely get to see one in silver plate. This one looks great and features newer pads too.

As you can see in the photos, the original silver plating is a solid 90-95% intact, with only light typical wear on the usual touch points. Looking over the entirety of the horn, it I see just a small bit of past dent work around the inner curve of the bottom bow area, with no other previous repairs that I can spot. The original neck has never been pulled down or damaged. Pads were fully replace a couple years ago and the horn has not seen much playing time since. All pads are still in like-new condition. The sax will get a fresh polishing and adjustment from our repair shop before shipping, where we'll make sure everything is sealing properly, as well as update adjustment corks and felts throughout.

In my opinion, these vintage Buffet horns are as close as you will find to a Mark VI, but at a drastically lower price. This alto plays with a very sweet, warm tone, offering the player just the right amount of positive resistance to give you something to push against, and its tone stays warm and fat even at full volume. Very dynamic player, in that you can do anything from classical to jazz, to even rock when paired with the right mouthpiece. Great all-around alto. Ships in a new Protec Max series contoured case.
