OUT-OF-BOX SPECIAL -- Selmer Paris S90 170 for Tenor
New Old Stock Selmer Hard Rubber Mouthpiece
This is a Selmer Paris S90 170 hard rubber mouthpiece for tenor saxophone, with a tip opening measuring 0.077-inch/1.95mm. This mouthpiece hasn't been owned previously, it is in very good physical condition.
The S90 series has mostly the same attributes of the S80 besides a wider chamber. It has the same flat side walls, flat baffle, and squared chamber. These mouthpieces play with a bit more brilliant and spread of a character in comparison, and a bit more evenly between higher and lower registers.
This one has a slightly more closed tip opening which will lend itself to playing in smaller dynamics with ease.
Physically this mouthpiece looks great, there's no teeth marks on the beak, the rails, table, and rail-tip are perfect. There are some light scrapes to the exterior but these look like marks from laying in a box rather than having a ligature put on.
These mouthpieces are great for anyone wanting to hone in their classical tone for tenor, especially for solo and ensemble, general competitions, concert band, college auditions, and of course the sax quartet.
This mouthpiece ships with its original box, no ligature or mouthpiece cap will be included.
