Beautiful original lacquer Selmer Paris Mark VI alto sax with keywork to low A, serial number 205169. We've had a few of the fabled “low A Mark VI's” in over the years, but the vast majority of them have been relacquered at some point. This one is all original and in stunning shape. It was recently overhauled, and will get a fresh adjustment from our shop before shipping.

Vintage Mark VI altos obviously don't come much nicer than this beauty. There's a small bit of factory acid bleed in a couple spots and some minor dings have been removed from the inner curve of the bottom bow, but all in all it is about as nice as you will ever find, and certainly better than any low A we've had in the store in a long while. It is a real looker in person, with its American style engraving popping like no other. The original neck too has never been pulled down or damaged.

This alto was fully overhauled just last year, using premium firm leather pads with original style brown plastic resonators. Everything was done well and it feels great under your fingers. The sax will go through our repair shop before shipping, where we'll do a once-over and make sure everything is still tight and in perfect regulation.

If you are a collector looking for the rare stuff, or just love the thought of a low A on your everyday horn, this alto is a fantastic option.
