Mark VI Bari Sax - Low A
This is a vintage Selmer Paris five digit Mark VI baritone saxophone keyed to low A, serial number 75919. Manufactured in 1958. The baritone is currently in our shop awaiting a mechanical restoration. It ships in perfect playing condition with new pads, materials and the original Mark VI wood case.

This baritone shows off a clean finish with crisp floral engraving around the bell area. These earlier five digit baritones tend to play with a very full robust character. This one in particular has had the lacquer professionally redone, most likely a very long time ago. The lacquer job was done extremely well with the proper air bake lacquer and honey tint. A past owner also added a support bar to the F pad cup. This is considered to be a smart modification as it adds additional support to the pad cup with the adjustment arm and screws. The baritone is with a Mark VI baritone neck from a slightly earlier vintage, serial number 60943. It has some normal cosmetic play wear but shows no signs it was ever pulled down in the past.

Before the saxophone came to our shop it did unfortunately receive a large dent along the back side of the bow as well as a bend to the body tube. Thankfully the bow cap is still intact and was not pushed in. The body will be repaired properly in our shop as part of our overhaul. Unfortunately, due to the depth of the dents there will most likely be some lacquer loss in the areas where the dents are removed from. Once the work is complete we will update the description and photos.

Due to the current condition of the body and the older pads this saxophone is not currently playing. As such the saxophone is currently awaiting a restoration in our shop. The mechanical restoration of this saxophone will include all necessary body and solder work before receiving a standard professional overhaul precise set up. The overhaul will include precise key fitting and setting up the saxophone with a new set of premium leather pads, metal domed resonators as well as new corks and felts. Once complete the saxophone will be in perfect playing condition.
