How the contest works
Each month, there will be a new game. The game consists of a single trivia question relating to some aspect of the saxophone. The answer to this question can be found by perusing either our Saxquest web site here or our saxophone resource site saxophone.org. The intent of the Saxquest saxophone trivia contest is to serve as a fun and challenging learning experience with the possibility of reward for those who succeed. A winner will be randomly selected from those contestants who correctly answer the question. You must be a registered Saxquest member to play (becoming a member is free.) Any Saxquest member may submit one entry per month. Playing more than once under more than one email address at a time is forbidden and is grounds for disqualification. The game begins on the first of every month at 12:01 A.M., and ends on the last day of each month at 11:59:59 P.M. (“the game period”).
How to play
To play the Saxquest saxophone trivia contest, simply click Trivia Contest from the Addt’l Services menu above. Read the “Contest Background” and then do as much research as you like before entering your answer. You may wish to discuss your thoughts with others on the Saxophone.org discussion forum. However, watch out for others giving misleading advice…the bottom line is that you must decide the correct answer for yourself. When you’re ready to answer, simply go to the Trivia Contest page, and when you are logged in, you will be given the opportunity to submit an answer at the bottom of the page. Be sure to use correct spelling, as misspelling the correct answer may register as a wrong answer. Once you’ve entered your answer, it cannot be changed. The correct answer, as well as the contest winner, will be posted after the contest is over and all past contest info can be viewed by choosing from the contest archives on our left menu.
Prizes
The prizes will vary from contest to contest. Examples may include, but are not limited to, vintage sax mouthpieces, a custom Saxquest saxophone setup, Saxquest store gift certificates, jazz or classical saxophone CDs, etc. Approximate retail value of each monthly prize will vary between $50 – $250. No substitution, cash equivalent, or transfer of prize is permitted, except at the sole discretion of Saxquest Inc. All taxes, fees, and surcharges due on the value of any prize or any other expenses not specified related to acceptance and use of any prize is solely the responsibility of the prize winner. Acceptance of a prize constitutes permission for Saxquest and its agencies to use winner’s name and likeness for advertising and promotional purposes in any media without additional compensation unless prohibited by law. Saxquest will not replace any lost or stolen gift certificates. Saxquest.com gift certificates must be redeemed at Saxquest.com within one year of issue date, or be forfeited. The prize will be sent to the winner’s shipping address located in his/her Saxquest membership registration.
Winners
A winner will be selected each month in a random drawing from correctly-answered entries. The drawing will be conducted within one week after the conclusion of the contest and the winner will be notified by e-mail with follow-up documentation sent by US mail from Saxquest Inc. Entering an incorrect or invalid email address or failing to submit a shipping address during the registration process will result in disqualification and a subsequent re-drawing.
No purchase necessary
Although online access and membership registration is required to play, absolutely no purchase is necessary to play the Saxquest saxophone trivia contest.
