Store Information
This is an early vintage (1921) Buescher True Tone soprano sax in the key of C, serial number 81956, in its original matte silver plated finish. This sax was professionally restored a few years ago and looks stunning, a cool old instrument for players who'd like to have a non-transposing sax in C.
The original silver on this soprano looks fantastic with no major finish wear of note, even on the touch points. The sax has had a couple tiny pings removed but no major dent work and no serious past trauma or repairs. The silver plating is 99% intact with only minor tarnish starting to show up, and it still has the original gold wash inside the bell. Being an older Buescher, it features keywork to high Eb, but everything is still laid out fairly comfortably under your fingers.
This sax was last re- padded in another shop with leather pads and brown plastic resonators. The pads are starting to show some age but still have lots of life in them. Overall the horn could use some set up and adjustment but is playing decently down to a low Bb. In order to offer the sax at a lower price we are selling this one in as is condition with out doing any additional work to it.
These old Buescher sopranos are a lot of fun to play and have a lush, rich quality you only find on old Bueschers. Due to its early vintage it does take more effort to keep complete control of and intonation is certainly not perfect.
Ships in as is condition with quality vintage hard shell case.
