True-American-Vintage-Tone GREAT CONDITION
Pictured above, we have a gorgeous Buescher True-Tone alto saxophone in gold plate, serial number #172607. The Buescher True-Tone saxophone was the premiere model until the design and release of the New Aristocrat model in 1931.

These saxophones featured basic chromatic keywork from low Bb in the bell up to palm F, side keys included for alternate Bb, C, and high E. There is a trill G# key in the lower stack which is a hallmark. So this horn is really a piece of history.

It's hard to find True-Tones that haven't been relacquered, It's also hard to find ones that have not had their snaps removed. Rest assured, this one is in original plating and has all its snaps. There is plate-wear across most of the key-cups, common key-touches, the thumb rest, and body tube. The interior of the bow looks to have had some dent work on it in the past, and the original bow cap has been replaced at some point.

This horn isn't in top playing condition currently, it's playing through a few leaks but sealing down to Bb. It has a sweet, compact sonic character with a tinge of brilliance with every note. This being a saxophone from the 1920s, you can't expect it to have the same kind of intonation of a modern horn.

To keep the cost of this listing down, we are going to ship it in as-is playing condition. If you'd like to get a Saxquest set-up on it, we've included a drop-down box to do so on this webpage.

Again, this horn is currently ready to ship in as-is condition, and will include its original neck and a vintage wooden Buescher case with purple felt interior.
