LOW Price on a 1968 vintage Selmer Paris Mark VI alto sax, serial number 162213. To get in the $4000 range on a Mark VI, you are usually either getting a super late (post-200xxx serial number) horn, or one that needs a lot of work. For this price, you are getting one that will come in all new pads and freshly overhauled. It's a great deal for players looking for a Mark VI on a budget.

This alto has been around the block and has the scars to show for it. There's past dent work and resolders here and there, mostly in the bottom third of the tube and bottom bow, as seen in the photos. The horn has also been relacquered and buffed pretty good; the engraving is just about gone around the bell (maybe the owner wanted a horn without engraving?). The Selmer stamping and serial number stamping remains clearly visible though. The original neck is solid too.

Currently in our repair shop, this alto is going to get our full professional overhaul. Cleaning, all new pads/material, new springs, and regulation. We'll check tone holes for level, regulate the action, and optimize spring tensions and key heights. We'll get it playing to the height of its abilities, and backed by our full one year mechanical warranty. It'll be ready to go for you for a long time to come.
