Sweet vintage Buescher Aristocrat “Big B” engraved alto sax in original silver plate, serial number 324463. You don't often see these Big B vintage horns in silver, and this one really stands out with 99% original plating intact.

This alto looks fantastic. It features a matte silver plated body with burnished (shiny) plating on the keywork and inlaid in the engraving. The only finish wear is on a few touch points and keyguards; most of the horn shows no discernible plating wear of note. I also see no previous damages/dent work or repair on the sax body. The original neck has one strange repair near the bottom of the brace, but no other apparent damage (seen in the last picture above).

This alto was previously repadded in another shop and all pads are still in like-new condition. It still has all of its original Buescher snaps. There's also still a good number of the original gold plated Norton springs in there, but some have been replaced. To make sure the sax comes to you in perfect playing shape, it will get a final adjustment from our repair shop before shipping. We'll replace some material, make sure all pads are seated properly, and optimize the action.

This alto plays with all the resonance that you want and expect on a vintage Buescher, but with added color and warmth in its tone. Very full sound, with a lightning-quick response. I like the spread you get on these horns, it feels very “alive” under your fingers.
