Conn Naked Lady 1934

This is a very early vintage Conn 10M tenor sax, serial number 263075. This tenor was in fact made before Conn started stamping them “10M”, but it is a true Naked Lady 10M through and through. It dates back to 1934, the very first year the 10M was available. These early 10M tenors showcased a full “toaster box” clothes guard on the back of the horn. They do not have guards around the back door Eb and alternate F# keys. But like the later 10M's these horns do feature the trill G# and the signature “Naked Lady” engraving on the bell.

Despite all the years between then and now, it remains in outstanding shape. It has a clean original lacquer finish is in the 85-90% range. It shows some normal history of use including specklish wear scattered throughout, but no major wear or damage to speak of. There has been a number of small dings taken out around the bottom bow. The bow cap is still in very good condition. The bell flare is in excellent shape as is the bell to body brace. This saxophone is with the original neck. The neck is in nice condition and has never been pulled down.

This tenor recently received a mechanical overhaul in our shop and is in tip top playing condition. The professional overhaul included a dissemble, cleaning and precise key fitting before being set-up with all new Valentino pads, metal dome resonators and all new cork and felt materials. This tenor is now in perfect playing condition and is playing like a real dream.

If you are looking for a vintage horn with a real special sound this tenor will not disappoint. It takes the air in very quick and has a tremendous free blowing response. Overall the sound is very robust and powerful. It can take in a ton of air and be played with a lot of brilliance when desired.
