This is a fully, custom restored 1916 vintage CG Conn baritone saxophone, serial number 36176. No expense was spared in making this a true one-of-a-kind instrument. It has received fresh top end gold plating, custom engraving by Lynn Osborne (who even signed it!), and a premium overhaul with leather pads and oversized machined brass flat metal resonators. This is a serious horn for serious collectors, there's not another like it.

The pictures don't do this horn justice. The Osborne family is famous for the master engravers they turned out, and this bari features gorgeous custom work by Lynn. Everywhere you look, you'll see something new and exciting. Multiple patterns, including a couple portraits, wrap completely around the bell, down onto the bottom bow, up the body tube, and even on all the key cups and neck. Absolutely incredible work.

This horn was completely restored from the ground up. It was taken to bare brass, plated in silver, and then plated in gold on top. There are no dents or dings anywhere, and with all new pads, it is in tip-top playing shape. Sonically, it plays with with a huge, beefy sound. The bottom end really growls! Warm but not super-dark, and it is very free blowing. The keywork is tight and crisp with a lighter touch, just as you'd want with an older Conn, and while it takes a bit of getting used to the feel of such an older vintage instrument, everything still lines up well. Neat horn in a custom look that you won't see anywhere else.
