This is an older Jody Jazz HR* mouthpiece for alto saxophone in an 8M facing. The tip opening on the piece measures .090”.
This piece does show the history of plenty of past use but still has a lot to offer the next owner. The overall condition of the facing profile is in great shape. These pieces are one of Saxquest's favorite choices for straight ahead jazz playing. They are flexible players with a great balance, a big sound and easy response. A great item if you are looking for a vintage Meyer sound on something modern.
If you have traditionally been a person that hovers around the 6 facing and thought about going up a facing number, or two then this piece would be great. Thanks to the efficiency of facing and manufacture an HR 8 by Jody is not all that more resistant than the smaller facings.
