Here's a neat vintage Buescher True Tone alto sax with serial number 234096, dating to around 1927. This horn does have newish pads, but will need some adjustment before it is in good playing shape.

This True Tone was relacquered long ago, and has a nice “aged” look to it. The newer lacquer shows little finish wear, and coverage is a solid 99% intact. There is evidence of prior dent work before the restoration process, most notably on the neck (the original # 1 neck), but the horn is otherwise solid. Pads look to be pretty recently replaced, and fitted with brown nylon resonators. However, the keywork is pretty “clicky” and there are some leaks to blow through, so the horn could stand to get a fresh regulation. With our repair shop backed up for months, we are currently selling this alto as-is.

This later vintage True Tone does have some features that you don't find on the earlier models, including front F. There's also a unique engraving pattern on the bell of a palm tree, not sure I've seen that before on a Buescher. Cool old horn.
