Gorgeous original lacquer CG Conn 10M series tenor sax, serial number 316026. This sax dates to 1946, just before Conn stopped rolling their tone holes. It is in tremendous shape and ready for a new owner to enjoy for years to come.
The original lacquer on this tenor is in fantastic shape, showing typical playing wear but no signs of past abuse. There's some minor past dent work in the bottom bow but nothing serious. No past trauma to the sax anywhere. A second neckstrap ring has been added for better comfort/playing position, as seen in the photos. The original neck (with funnel octave pip) has been gold plated at some point in its life, and shows no signs of previous pull-down or damage. The rolled tone holes have never been filed on. Pads are just a couple years old, fitted with brown nylon resonators, and we performed a full pro set up on this tenor in the last year. We'll do a final check-over on it again before shipping, to make sure it is sealing perfectly.
This tenor really rips, which is just want you want on a vintage Conn! Tremendously fast response, big open feel, and fat, spread sound. The gold neck seems to add depth and color to an all-ready lush tone. I didn't want to put this horn down! Great player and a joy to play. Ships in its original hard case.
