Clean original lacquer Selmer Paris Mark VI sopranino saxophone, serial number 298036. The serial number dates this sax to the late 1970s, but as Selmer never released a Mark 7 sopranino, the Mark VI carried over. This one is in fantastic shape and is a cool find for players looking to “round out the collection.”

The original lacquer on this horn stands around 90%, with some minor lacquer wear here and there from a couple past resolders. No serious past damage or trauma. Pads are are in excellent shape, fitted with original style brown nylon resonators, and the sax will get a fresh pro set up from our repair shop before shipping. We'll go through it and make sure it is in tip-top playing shape when it goes out.

This sopranino is the key of Eb, an octave above the alto, so it is one of higher pitched saxophones you'll find. As such, you'll need a well developed embouchure to bring it under control, but if you've a lot of experience on soprano, you'll swing into it with a problem. Sonically, it plays with a strong focus and dark core sound, with a clear, precise attack. Its focus and center makes for an easy playing experience (well, as easy as it gets on sopranino!).
