This is an original silver plated C.G. Conn “Chu Berry” series alto sax, serial number 221356. Dating to 1928, this alto remains in remarkable condition. It currently needs an overhaul, so we are offering it “as is” at a reduced price, if you have your own preferred tech you'd like to take it to, or we are offering to do the full job at a greatly reduced price.

Though the silver is pretty tarnished, as seen in the photos, it is in tremendous shape with no major finish wear to speak of. There are also no major dents and no previous repairs. The sax features rolled tone holes, which have never been filed on, and has its original microtuner neck.

This alto was last padded with student quality divot pads, which obviously aren't optimal. To do it right, we are offering our full pro overhaul, if selected from the option above. Our overhaul would include full disassembly and cleaning/polishing, all new pads with seamless oversized metal resonators, and new key material. We'd optimize spring tensions and key heights throughout, for optimal feel and response.

Whether you have us do the work or take it to your own tech, this will be a fine alto once properly restored. These are highly underrated saxes and a whole lot of horn for the price.
