This is one of the prettiest vintage Buescher tenors you'll ever find. This is a 1950 vintage Buescher Aristocrat 156 tenor, serial number 333602. Made just after the “Big B” version of the Aristocrat, this tenor is pretty much identical to that sax, with different engraving. It is in beautiful shape and was recently overhauled.

This tenor looks incredible, with greater than 95% original lacquer intact. It really shows only minor cosmetic wear from light use and no serious wear of note. A couple tiny chair pings in the bottom bow, with no major dents and no previous repairs or resolders. The original neck has never been damaged and likewise is perfect. This tenor was repadded recently in another shop, and it has like-new pads with the original Buescher snaps still with the horn. The last tech used a non-stick substance on the pads, but we're going to clean that off before shipping. We'll also perform our pro set up, so that it plays and feels perfect.

A good Buescher should be free blowing and responsive while retaining a warm core, and this tenor has all of those attributes. It takes your air very comfortably with little resistance, and delivers a wall of sound when pushed hard. Very resonant instrument that you can feel under your fingers. This is a whole lot of tenor for the price, the kind of tenor that will not let you down.
