Rare Original Selmer Paris Soloist Short Shank B* Tenor Sax Mouthpiece

This is a vintage hard rubber Selmer Soloist “short shank” series mouthpiece for the tenor sax. This is a somewhat rare mouthpiece, in that it is an original B*, as stamped on the table, with tip measuring .067”. A C* was obviously the standard, and while you occasionally see the smaller C facing pieces out there, we very rarely find a B*, which was the smallest facing Selmer offered, and was only for those players who wanting a small facing matched with a hard reed. This piece is in tremendous shape. The hard rubber body has slightly oxidized with time, but it shows little playing wear. It could use a good scrubbing/cleaning on the inside, but the only real wear of note is some mild discoloration around the beak.
