Reference 54 Alto

This is a very nice Selmer Paris Reference 54 alto saxophone in honey gold lacquer, serial number 674984. The alto was professionally played and maintained by the last owner. It is currently awaiting a fresh cleaning and set up in our shop and will ship in perfect playing condition with a nice contoured RB hard case. The Reference 54 is a fantastic professional alto, great for use in a wide variety of musical settings. It showcases comfortable modern key work to high F# and a gorgeous sonic character. The Reference is noticeably more open and free blowing in comparison to the SII and SIII models. This one in particular has a very smooth response to air flow while producing a clear projecting sound.

This saxophone is physically in excellent condition showing normal play wear and some past repair. At some point a couple of key guard feet were re-soldered. The alto has the original Reference neck with it. This neck is also in very good condition and was never pulled down. It shows some normal light scratching and has had a couple of key guard feet re-soldered in the past. The original neck is also with the saxophone. It shows similar cosmetic character to the rest of the sax and has never been pulled down.

This sax came in playing an a slightly older Roo pad job from another shop. In order to ensure the horn is perfect for the next owner it is currently awaiting a cleaning and pro set up in our shop. The Saxquest pro set up will include a dissemble, cleaning and thorough regulation of the entire horn. While the horn is apart our tech will also replace any needed pads and key materials that are worn out or not up to our standards.

Alto ships in perfect playing condition with a Saxquest set up and a nice Reunion Blues contoured hard case.
