Selmer Mark VII

This is a lovely silver plated Selmer Paris Mark VII alto saxophone, serial number 241599. A great playing Selmer alto with rich sound and a beautiful look. The original silver finish on this saxophone is in excellent shape. There is some normal play wear showing but it there is no sign of major past repair. The body tube, bow and bell are all in terrific original condition. Its bow cap and bell flare are both perfect and have never been pushed in or damaged. The alto shows no history of receiving re-solders in the past. Its key pearls are all in outstanding condition and still have a nice crisp feel to them under the fingers. At some point in the past the neck on the alto was switched to a Selmer Super Action 80 style. The neck is in perfect physical condition.

This alto has ultra smooth response to air flow and features a dark focused sound. The control and clarity of the Mark VII across its entire range is exceptional. This saxophone received a professional overhaul in 2018. All of the Valentino pro pads and nylon resonators are in outstanding condition. In order to ensure the alto ships in perfect playing condition we will also perform a fresh set up on the sax before shipping.

With a warm contoured sound and a great feel the Mark VII is a highly versatile saxophone and works in a multitude of musical settings. If you are looking to get into a vintage Selmer with out spending the big bucks this Mark VII is a great way to go.
