Vintage Buescher Aristocrat Original Lacquer Tenor Saxophone, Serial #282859 - Project Horn
Buescher Aristocrat - With Origianl Snap Resonators
This is an vintage Buescher Aristocrat tenor saxophone in original lacquer finish, serial number 282859. The tenor shows original lacquer finish along with a healthy amount of play wear. It looks like the sax saw a decent amount of use in its day but has most likely spent quite a bit of time in the case. It came into our shop on a set of very old leather pads and it looks like it has been a very long time since it has been regularly played or seriously serviced. It does have all of the original Buescher snap resonators and gold plated springs. All of the original key work is with the saxophone as well as the original neck. The neck is in similar cosmetic condition to the rest of the saxophone and has a few small dings. This saxophone is missing a portion of the key guard for the low Eb key. Please also take note of the dings around the bow as well as the ding on the low C key cup.
All done up in playing condition the Aristocrat tenors are fabulous players. They are rich and free blowing while showcasing a colorful sweetness to their sound. This particular horn came into our shop having not been serviced in a very long time. While the top half of the horn is currently playing with an impressive sound there is unfortunately too many leaks happening all over the horn to get all the way down to the bottom end. At this point it is going to need a full mechanical overhaul as well as some body and solder work before it is ready for any real amount of playing.
We would love to do this sax up right but our shop is extremely backed up at this time. As such we are selling a number of great vintage saxophones in as is condition at lower prices. This saxophone ships in as is condition with the original wood hard case.
