This is a very pretty example of a Martin Handcraft alto saxophone, serial number 79550. The alto shows off satin silver plate around the body with burnished silver on the key work and a gold plate wash on the bell flare. The alto is in beautiful physical condition and looks like it has mostly been kept in the case. It shows no signs of ever receiving major past repair. No major dent work and no re-solders. The original neck with matching serial number stamp is also in outstanding condition.

As players these altos have a colorful sound with a open free blowing response. The construction has key work from low Bb to palm F ( no front F) as well as beveled tone holes. All of the original key work is present and in beautiful condition. The alto came in playing decently down to low Bb on a older pad job from another shop. There is some leaks and the horn could stand a good set up before it can be considered in perfect playing condition. At this time we are selling a number of great vintage items in as is condition.

Due to the early vintage and condition of this alto it is not advisable for student use and is most ideal for a collector. Ships in as is condition with a later vintage Martin wood hard case.
