The Martin Alto Sax

This is a vintage Martin Committee III “The Martin” alto saxophone, serial number 171906. Up in good playing condition these saxophones are powerful players and are a great choice for any player looking for a good work horn on a budget.

At this point most of the horn is in raw brass but it does not look the horn was ever re-lacquered. It does show quite a bit of history of past body and solder repair. At this time there are a number of dings present and the bell flare is pulled down. The sax does include the all of the original key work and original neck. The neck shows similar cosmetic condition to the rest of the saxophone but does not look like it has ever been seriously pulled down. It does showcase the matching serial number stamp. At this time the thumb rest is not attached to the body tube but is included with the purchase ( see pictures)

We would love to do this horn up right but at this time we have a lot of great vintage items in need of restoration and are letting some of them go at super low prices. If you have your own shop or have a preferred tech you can get into this Martin at a low price.
