This is the new “Vocalise” Tim McAllister signature mouthpiece for alto saxophone by Backun. The Vocalise was developed for Backun by renowned saxophonist Tim McAllister and master mouthpiece technician Richard Hawkins.

These pieces are extremely consistent and are all produced on precision CNC machining.

The Vocalise features a unique chamber designed to increase projection and sonic consistency from top to bottom. These piece are also made to work well with cane and synthetic reeds.

Vocalise TM1

A close facing mouthpiece with faster response, the TM1 provides artists with a more direct and focused tone across all registers. Artists seeking enhanced flexibility and clean articulation will appreciate the tonal clarity that the TM1 delivers.

Tip opening = 1.44mm.

Vocalise TM2

An open facing mouthpiece that yields a warmer, more robust response that projects incredibly well in larger symphonic settings. Artists will benefit from the core sound of the TM2, which remains consistent at higher volumes, while possessing the ability to float pianissimos with great stability.

Tip opening = 1.53mm.
