This is a very nice, custom engraved Yamaha YSS-475 soprano sax, serial number 003319A. This model is a fantastic option for advancing students and pro players alike, anyone looking for a dependable option on soprano without breaking the bank. We get players all the time who would love to get a solid soprano but can't spring for Selmer Paris/Yamaha Custom kind of money, and we always tell them the 475 is the way to go.

This soprano is in exquisite shape, showing only cosmetic wear from light use. There's some scratching here and there around the body, but no dents or previous damages/repairs. This model comes from the factory without any engraving, but the previous owner sent it to Jaice Dumars to have engraving added. An original Yamaha-style pattern was tastefully added, giving the sax a very clean and professional look.

This sax was set up a couple years ago, so to freshen it up, we are going to perform a fresh cleaning and pro adjustment. We'll replace a couple pads, all key adjustment corks and felts, and regulate the action so that it feels crisp and “new” again. All work is included in the price, and the sax will come to you in perfect playing shape.

If you are looking for a clean playing, easy blowing soprano, they don't get much better. This soprano takes your air very efficiently without a ton of resistance, and responds fast with a quick, lively tone. It's not overly bright but definitely has an edge when you need it, and blow comfortably across the range of the instrument. A real sweet player, it ships in its original case.
