This alto saxophonist and flutist started his recording carrier in the late 1950's. By the 60's he was in high demand as a Hard Bop side man for a multitude of bands and most notably for groups recording on Blue Note Records. His work on both instruments can be heard on the 2nd track of a 1966 Horace Silver release.
