Rudy Van Gelder is a household name with nearly every jazz musician and enthusiast. In 1960 Van Gelder recorded an album featuring 3 saxophonists. Each were well known in their own right at the time. This “soul” session also featured a very burning rhythm section with a 35 year old Roy Haynes holding it down on drums.
