In 1962 a tenor sax titan entered the studio to record what is now considered to be a mainstay classic. At the time of its release it went over with notable success and was considered to be a highly successful comeback. Just as interesting as the album itself was the story about the practice location of the saxophonist in the years leading up to the recording of the album.

The album was recorded in the RCA Victor Studio B in New York City and realeased in 1962.
