This is a gorgeous lacquered CG Conn “Chu Berry” series alto sax, serial number 218572. This horn would have originally been plated in silver or gold from the factory, but has more recently been relacquered, and it is about the most perfect job you'll ever see. It could use some adjustments, but has newer pads and is close to ready.
The floral engraving on this alto is flawless, with no signs of buffing from the refinishing. The rolled tones also are in excellent shape, so you can have confidence that the work was done well. Physically, I see no signs of past damage or repair, no obvious past dent work. The original microtuner neck is included, and while it does spin a bit sluggishly, the microtuner still works.
This also was repadded shortly before coming to us, and features like-new pads with brown nylon resonators. However, it isn't playing well currently, with some leaks noticeable down in the bottom of the horn. We are selling it as-is needing some work; if you have a bit of sax knowledge to float some pads and replace some material, you'll be way ahead on this alto. Conns are known for being free blowing, and this alto will not disappoint once properly adjusted; it will take all of the air you can push through it and never back down.
