This is an old, 19th century French-made “LAIGNEL” tenor saxophone. It has no serial number that I can find. This is a cool example of an early production saxophone. It features double octave keys, keywork only to low B, and very antiquated mechanisms. It's not going to be a sax you take to a gig, but it is a neat conversation piece.

The sax appears to be original silver plated and in decent overall condition. There's past dents in the bottom bow and lumpy spots in the body. The solder work isn't the best, but honestly I think a lot of it is factory original. It's a funky horn to see in person; with only a low B, the bell looks stunted and is really bizarre.

If you are a saxophone connoisseur and want an example of an early tenor sax in your collection, without having to pay Adolphe Sax kind of money, this is a cool piece. Ships in a hard case.
