This is an absolutely exquisite vintage HN White King Saxello soprano sax in Bb, serial number 72651. King had a really unique design on their hands with this one, which was later copied but never duplicated. It featured an attached curved neck and a bell that sticks out 90 degrees from the body, sort of like a semi-curved soprano, but less “compact” feeling that a true curved. One of the must-haves for serious saxophone collectors.
This horn is in tremendous shape, with 99.9% original silver intact. It features a matte silver plated body with burnished (shiny) attached neck, bell, and keywork. No dents, dings, resolders, or previous repairs of any kind. It ships in its original case (not easy to find a case to fit this horn!) but is missing its original stand, which would have fit through the lyre-like holder on the back of the sax.
This sax was recently completely restored by another shop and is playing great. Padded with firm leather pads matched with oversized metal resonators, it feels great, and will get a seal check on our repair bench before shipping. It plays with a powerful, edgy voice, just as you'd expect and want from a Cleveland era King, but has a lot of warmth and color too, something found more on these earlier models than the later Super 20's and whatnot. Very cool instrument.
