Beautiful Condition Selmer Reference 54 Tenor Sax in Gold Lacquer - Serial # 782042

This is an extremely gold lacquered Selmer Paris Reference 54 series tenor sax, serial number 782042. This tenor has been very well cared for an has not seen a whole lot of playing time. It comes to its next owner recently adjusted and ready to rock and roll for a long time to come.

The original gold lacquer on this tenor is 99% intact, showing only minor scratching here and there from normal use. No serious lacquer wear, and no dents or previous dent repair. There is one resoldered joint on one foot of the low Eb keyguard, and the repair was done very well and is hard to spot. The original neck has never been damaged or pulled down. All in all, fantastic shape top to bottom. The sax received a pro set up from another shop (reseated pads, new material) and will get quick check-up in our shop before shipping, to ensure it is still in perfect adjustment for its next owner.

Usually between a Reference 36 and 54, I like the 36 because it feels more open and resonant than the matte finish 54, but this gold lacquered version really sings. I can see why Selmer made this is an option, because it feels so much more open than a matte finish version. Really takes your air quickly and keeps that lush, dark tone that envelops the listener completely. Sweet sounding tenor all around. Comes in its original contoured Selmer Paris Reference case.
