Very NICE condition Selmer Paris Reference 54 tenor saxophone in antique matte finish, serial number 631591. This tenor is a sweet player with a very warm, darker tone. It will get a fresh cleaning and pro set up from our shop before shipping, and come to its next owner in tip-top playing shape.

The original lacquer on this tenor is 98%+ intact, showing on scratching and very minor finish wear here and there from honest use. The bell flare is bent on one side (see pictures, it is very minor) which will be corrected during our work, but it did not push the bell in towards the body tube, and there is no other damage of note. A couple very shallow pings in the bell and one minor ding on one side of the neck, which we'll remove as well. Absolutely no resolders and no past dent work/machine marks anywhere. The neck has never been pulled down, and the sax is straight from top to bottom.

Pads are still soft with original brown plastic resonators, and have lots of life in them. During our set up, we'll replace the spring-shut pads as well as any that are starting to show wear. We'll also put on all new corks and felts throughout, and set the action back to factory specs, though with a slightly lighter spring tension that what typically comes from the factory. It'll be playing up a storm once our work is completed, and all is included in the price.

This is maybe one of the warmest sounding tenors you'll find. It plays with just the right amount of positive resistance and responds quickly to your air, giving you a full, dark tone that is centered and focused in all the right ways. It stays tonally warm as you climb up into the palm keys and altissimo. Great all-around jazz instrument. Ships in its original Selmer Light series case.
