Otto Link 'Florida V' #8 Metal Tenor Mouthpiece - .109

This is an Otto Link Metal 'Florida V' metal tenor mouthpiece with an 8 facing, the tip measures a bit under 0.109-inch/2.76mm. These mouthpieces feature a pronounced roll-over baffle, rounded side-walls with extra room cut out towards the tip, and a medium rounded chamber. The crown of the beak comes to a bit of a point and the piece carries a decent amount of mass to it.

 

The table, side rails, and rail-tip are in great condition with no plate-wear or divots/indentations. This mouthpiece has only superficial scrapes on the exterior from ligature use. The bite plate has a few marks but these look like they're from the tooth cushion.

 

This piece plays well, it has a warm, spread, sonic character. When you push more air into it, you will feel only a bit of resistance as the mouthpiece opens up with some extra brightness to give you a fairly gritty sound in the louder dynamics. So effectively this piece can flex between these two zones fairly well, even down to subtones this piece will support and push your tone.

 

It comes with a box, but there is no ligature or mouthpiece cap included with the 'Florida V'.
