Phil Barone New York 7* H #185 Metal Mouthpiece for Tenor Saxophone
Phil Barone – March 3rd, 2000
This is a Phil Barone New York 7* metal mouthpiece for tenor saxophone, H 185. The mouthpiece has received plenty of play time in the past but is still in great shape. Its plating is in good shape all around the outer body. The facing profile of the mouthpiece (table, tip and side rails) shows history of use. Its facing length (side to side) does measure even. The tip opening of the piece measures .106”.
The mouthpiece showcases a wide open throat leading to a steady floor slop and no baffle. It plays with a warm and balanced sound while also allowing for a nice amount of volume with clarity.
