Here we have a Powell Sonare piccolo in resin-infused grenadilla, with silver keywork, serial number PS-234. This piccolo has been lightly used in our store, never owned, so we have marked it down for a solid discount. This is a great opportunity for a doubler to get a high level playing instrument if they're looking to step up their piccolo game significantly.

 

The Sonare is a model that is built to shine in less than desirable environments, it has resin-infused grenadilla as a preventative measure to resist cracking and temperature fluctuations. It also has a split-E mechanism which really dials in the response to the player for easy execution. The double socket head joint connects with a nickel silver tenon, with tenon cork, which is standard on all Powell grenadilla pics. 

 

Sonically, this piccolo plays with even response from bottom to top, with specifically good dynamic control in the high register. Physically the Sonare is looking just about flawless, there's a little bit of tarnish on the keys. 

 

After purchase, we will go through the whole instrument and ensure all keys are sealing and that the key action is well-adjusted and fluid. We will include a 1-year mechanical warranty guarantee that will cover wear and tear on corks, felts, pads, and key adjustments.
