Here's a serious instrument for you serious collectors out there. This is a Full Boehm vintage Leblanc Basset clarinet in the key of A, serial number 107, with extended range to low C. This is the instrument that Mozart's clarinet concerto was written for. To top it off, this instrument is in mint condition and looks to have been lovingly cared for over its life.
New basset clarinets from Buffet are over $12k, and finding any basset clarinet, much less one in this nice of condition, is practically unheard of. This one looks much like the day it left the factory. There are no cracks in the grenadilla wood, and no previous repairs or damages of any kind. The original keywork shows no discernible finish wear and is still shiny. The instrument is complete with original bell, barrel, and original Leblanc mouthpiece. Due to the size of this instrument with the extended bottom joint, it is fitted with an original factory neckstrap ring, something you may be thankful for due to the increased weight of this horn!
This basset clarinet was last repadded many years ago and the pads are definitely showing their age. We've play tested it down to low C and while you can blow through the leaks, it is certainly due for a fresh repad. We are currently offering this instrument as-is on the older pads, if you have your own tech that you'd like to do the work, but we can also do the job at a reduced price. Just select from the options above.
Don't miss out on this one-of-a-kind instrument, an amazing find for players and collectors alike.
