Selmer Paris Super Action 80 Series II Alto Saxophone in Gold Lacquer, Serial #505528

This is a very nice Selmer Paris SII alto saxophone in gold lacquer finish, serial number 505528. The SII is a highly versatile professional instrument and is the choice of many of the worlds finest players. These saxophones are desired for their great build quality, balanced intonation and rich sonic character. 

 

The body of this sax shows all the normal signs of a horn that has seen plenty of use while being well cared for. It looks like there were previously some small dents removed around the lower bow area. But the bow cap is still in good shape and was never pushed in. The original neck is with the saxophone. Its octave key saddle was previously repaired and there is one notable ding on the neck at this time. This will be addressed while the alto is in our repair shop. 

 

This SII came in playing on its original pads. It showcases a beautifully balanced core sound with a dark color. As the pads are all getting pretty hard and are past their prime this saxophone is in line in our shop to received a overhaul. The professional overhaul will include a dissemble, cleaning, key fitting and removal of any small dings. Its final set-up will feature a new set of Valentino pro pads with metal dome resonators as well as all new corks and felts.
