Superb! Vintage C.G. Conn New Wonder II Chu Berry in Lacquer, Serial #242756 – Budget Pro Horn

This is a monster player, vintage Conn New Wonder II “Chu Berry” alto saxophone in gold lacquer finish, serial number 242756. A great free blowing instrument perfect for the giggin sax player who needs something sturdy and powerful all at a lower price point. This horn was previously a personal instrument of one of our repair techs. It very recently received a very precise professional overhaul in the Saxquest shop. It is now playing up a storm and features all new premium leather pads, TM custom metal resonators as well as new corks and felts. The saxophone will be checked in our shop once more before shipping to ensure it goes out in perfect playing condition. 

 

At some point in the past this saxophone was re-lacquered. Its current finish looks pretty clean but does show some past body and solder repairs. As it sits now the horn is in solid physical condition. It does have a Chu era neck with fully functional micro tuner. The neck is in great shape but does not appear to be the original. 

 

This alto is very free blowing and is quite bright. If you are looking for something with a lot of cutting power this alto will do very nicely. It should also be said that the pitch balance on this particular Chu is exceptional for its vintage. Ships in perfect playing condition with a premium pad job and a new Protec contoured case.
