This is a completely original vintage Buffet Crampon Paris Super Dynaction series tenor sax, serial number 10854. A lot of people say these early Buffet horns are the closest you can get to a vintage Selmer VI, at a fraction of the price. This one will be getting a full overhaul from our shop, and ship to its new buyer in perfect playing shape.
As you can see in the photos, the original lacquer on this tenor is in very good shape, at around 85% intact. There's normal playing wear on the back side of the tube and whatnot, but no major finish wear around the front. Physically, there's one small dent in the bottom bow and the upper body tube is currently slightly bent; both of these issues will be corrected in our shop during the course of our overhaul. Our work will include full disassembly and deep cleaning, all new pads/corks/felts, and proper regulation. We'll adjust the spring tensions and key heights throughout, bring everything back to factory specs. It will feel (and play!) like a brand new horn when we are finished with it.
Currently blowing through a lot of leaks on the old pads, you can still get a sense of the warmth and color this tenor has. I've played a lot of these Super Dynactions and they are certainly worthy of the praise you hear online. Very full sounding horns, with a lot of presence, and versatile enough that you can take them to any gig. This tenor will ship out in its original case.
