Very Nice! Selmer Paris Super Action 80 SII Alto Sax, Serial #688078

Here we have a beautiful Selmer Paris 'Super Action 80' Series II alto saxophone in gold lacquer, serial number 668078. The alto was just freshly overhauled in our shop and is now in perfect playing condition.

 

The Selmer Series II is a top shelf pro horn that ran from the 1980s well into the 2010s, updated to Jubilee models, and finally in the 2020s the line was formally discontinued to make way for the Signature series. This one is from 2005. The body is in outstanding physical condition from top to bottom. There is some normal cosmetic play wear from past use but nothing too major. The original neck is in good shape and was never pulled down.  

 

This saxophone just received a professional overhaul from our shop. It is now in perfect playing condition and is ready for a new home. The work included a dissemble, cleaning and precise key fitting. It was set up with all new Valentino pro pads, metal dome resonators as well as all new corks and felts. This particular SII plays with a dark-focused character, even darker than the earlier Series II saxes of the 1980s and 90s. Precise intonation comes easy even with these old pads and felts, after the overhaul a player could handle just about every genre of music with the right mouthpiece and reed setup.
