Very Nice! Yamaha Silver Plated YAS-82ZII Custom Z Alto Sax, Serial #F36868

This is a very nice Yamaha YAS-82ZII “Custom Z” alto saxophone in silver plate finish, serial number F36868. The alto is only a few years old and is in tremendous physical condition. It shows some normal cosmetic play wear but has not had any history of major past repair. No past body work or solder repairs. A great opportunity to pick a beautiful horn up for under “new” pricing. The original Yamaha Custom Z V1 neck is also with the saxophone and is in great shape. These V1 necks are the standard neck for all new Series II Yamaha Custom Z saxophones. 

 

The last owner of the horn put a decent amount of play time on it while taking very good care of it. It is currently due for a complete set-up, cleaning and some new pads in the upper stack. As such this sax is currently awaiting a professional set up in our shop. The work will include a dissemble and cleaning followed by a thorough regulation. While the horn is apart we will also replace all the key felts and corks as well as any pads that are not up to our standards. 

 

The Custom Z is an ideal instrument for the modern professional. This one plays with a smooth free blowing response to air flow while keeping a consistent sonic balance across all registers. A fantastic instrument for anyone looking for the qualities of a good Mark VI on a modern horn.
