Very Pretty! Original Lacquer YSS-62 “Purple Logo” Soprano Sax, Serial #5134

This is a gorgeous original Yamaha “Purple Logo” YSS-62 soprano saxophone, serial number 5134. The soprano is a real looker; it looks as pretty as any purple logo soprano you'll find. In order to sell at the best price possible we are selling this saxophone playing in as is condition on its original pads. 

 

The original lacquer on this beauty is 98-99% intact. There is no major lacquer wear of note, even on the touch points. No dents or dings, no re-solders. There is minor lacquer wear around the curve of the bell flare and some minor surface scratching there (from sitting on a stand) and a couple on the body, but that's it. The purple stamping is crisp with no fading. All in all, as crisp as they come!

 

Currently the horn is playing nicely on its original pads. It does look like someone in the past did a basic service on the horn and replaced some key materials as well as tweaked the current pads. If you are going to be putting a lot of serious play time on the horn this sax is ultimately going to need to be overhauled in the near future. At this time the turn around time in our shop is quite lengthy so we are offering this one in as is condition at a lower price point.
