Vintage Lelandais
This is a vintage A. Lelandais hard rubber mouthpiece for baritone sax. A very interesting mouthpiece. The piece has had custom work done to it most recently by Erik Greiffenhagen. It looks like it was also worked on in the past by Brian Powell, you can see both signature stamps in the pictures. The piece has a sizable epoxy baffle inserted in it that gives it a nice amount of brilliance and bite.

I was somewhat taken aback when playing it. This piece takes the air in extremely fast and packs quite a bit of punch. With the baffle in it the piece is much brighter and louder. It does get a little wild and harder to control in the upper register. But a very interesting piece for sure.

The body of the piece is in good physical condition but it does show the cosmetic character of an older mouthpiece. Its beak and shank are both in great shape as well. The facing profile of the table, tip and side rails is in excellent shape from the last re-facing.
