This is a very pretty example of an original Buescher Aristocrat alto, serial number 290945. The alto shows off its original finish with a gorgeous dark tint and crisp art deco engraving. There is some honest play wear on the sax, mostly around the main touch areas, but nothing too serious. The physical body of the sax is in tremendous condition. There is no signs of major dent work and there has never been any solder repairs. Its body tube, bow, bow cap and bell are all in fantastic shape. As an added bonus the alto is also with all of the original key work, pearls, rollers and Norton gold plated springs. It also has the original Buescher snap resonators. Looking over the saxophone very carefully I can see one small ding located along the bow.
This alto is with the original Buescher neck. Like the rest of the alto the neck has a little bit of honest finish wear but it has no history of major past repair. It has never been pulled down. The neck is stamped 1 0.
This saxophone came into our shop playing up a storm on a slightly older overhaul from another shop. All of the pads are in great shape and have not seen very much play time in the past. The cork and felt work is also still in good condition. This alto plays with a ultra sweet quality and is very free blowing in response to air flow. The key work is also nicely regulated and feels great under the fingers.
In order to keep the horn at a lower selling price we will not be doing any of our own set up work on this alto. But we will look it over and play test before packing to ensure it is sealing up.
