Vintage C.G. Conn New Wonder II Chu Berry Tenor Sax - Project Horn, Serial #210280

Here is an old Conn New Wonder II tenor saxophone, serial number 210280. The pictures of this sax tell its store the best It has seen plenty of play time in the past as well as quite a bit of past repair. At this time it has been quite some time since it has since serious serving and is going to need a mechanical overhaul before it is ready for any serious playing. At this time Saxqeust shop is very backed up so we are selling a number of vintage items in as is condition at lower prices. 

The body of the sax shows history of past body and solder repair. Many of the key guards have received solder repair. The original neck is with the saxophone and has also received past repair. 

 

Looking over the horn closely a previous tech or owner removed all of the Conn set screws. The octave key guides are also missing from the receiver socket. There has also been past repairs around a couple of the tone holes. ( see pictures 24-26) 

 

All done up and properly overhauled this horn could made to be a fabulous free blowing player once more. Before it is ready for playing it will need a in depth mechanical overhaul along with springs and body work.  Saxquest has re-done a number of these Chu tenors in the past but at this time our shop is very baked up and we are selling this one in as is condition at a lower price point. If you know a good tech or have your own shop this is a nice way to get into a classic vintage tenor at a good price point.
