Vintage Conn 10M Naked Lady Tenor – 1952, Serial #351422 – Players Horn AS IS Special!
Conn 10M Naked Lady
This is a vintage C.G. Conn Naked Lady tenor saxophone from the early 1950's, serial #351422. If you are looking to pick up a good 10M at a great price this one is going to be very attractive. The later 10M tenors like this one were manufactured with straight tone holes, front F, trill G# and feature the Conn “Naked Lady” engraving. This one was re-lacquered at some point in the past. It does show a proper dark tint. The body is physically in good shape showing some history of past repair. Currently you can see a few smaller dings still on the horn and on the neck. The neck also has a very slightly pull down on it.
The Conn was re-padded in another shop a few years ago with a set of white roo pads and metal noyek resonators. A few of the pads in the upper stack are starting to show some wear but the majority of them are still clean and do not show much history of use. At this time it does have some leaks and clicky keys here and there. But, that being said it is playing with a quick free blowing response and a powerful sound, indicative of a great American vintage tenor. Ultimately the sax will need some general set up work before it could considered perfect. We would love to do this horn up right but because it is already playing and the long line in our shop we are selling it in as is condition at a lower than normal price. We will give it a quick play test and replace the neck cork before sending it out of our shop.
Ships in as is condition (with a fresh neck cork) includes a newer wood hard case in good condition.
