This is a vintage Conn New Wonder C melody sax in raw brass finish, serial number 138086. The sax has previously been restored in another shop. It now it shows a raw brass format and a set of slim red leather pads with metal Maestra resonators. It is physically pretty clean across the body and does not show too much in the way of major past repair. At this point the Conn engraving is harder to see at this point. This C-melody is also with the original neck and micro tuner. The micro tuner and neck are also both in great shape. The tuner is free moving and fully functional.
The Conn New Wonder I features key work from low Bb to high F (Front F key), back door Eb key, trill G#, split bell keys and rolled tone hole construction. All of the original key work is intact on this saxophone.
The saxophone was last re-padded in another shop several years ago. At this time the horn is playing down to a low Bb. While the pads do not look like they have seen much play time thus far they are pretty hard and most all of them are leaking. If you are going to be putting a lot of play time or any professional use on the horn it is going to need some set-up work at the very least before it can be considered in perfect playing condition.
At this time the turn around time in our shop is quite long. As such we are currently offering a number of great vintage items in as is condition and great prices. This C-melody ships out playing in as is condition with original wood hard case and a basic HR Babbitt blank mouthpiece.
