This is a vintage King Super 20 saxophone from 1959, serial #367203. Made in Cleveland Ohio, this is considered a third series Super 20. It showcases the sterling double socket neck with under-slung octave key as well as decorative sunburst engraving on the Low B and Bb keys. The lacquer on this particular King looks very clean. Due to the brighter color it is most likely not factory original but is extremely clean and clear. The original engraving is also very crisp.
These are great instruments if you are looking for a lot of power and flexibility regarding projection. This particular alto is what some would call a “players horn.” It is physically in solid condition but shows the history of plenty of past play time and some repair. The body tube, bell and original neck are in great shape. Its neck shows no signs it has ever been pulled down. The bow looks like it has had some smaller dings removed in the past. It also has a pushed in area on one side of the bow cap.
This alto is currently in line for a set up and some needed cleaning in our shop. The set-up will include a dissemble and cleaning followed by a fresh regulation of the key work. While the horn is apart out tech will also replace any needed key materials.
This alto ships out in perfect playing condition with non original case.
